If you want to start any Youtube video from a specific time, here is simple and a small tutorial:

1. Open the YouTube video and hit PAUSE at a specific time. Now right click on the video applet and select Copy video URL at current time.

Now paste the link to a notepad etc, it will give some sort of following link, for example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=bAWEql-mMnc#t=24s

In this link, bAWEql-mMnc is the actual Video ID whereas the code #t=24s means that the video will start from 24 seconds (i.e. specified time). Remember, the time code must be specified in terms of seconds, it will not work for minutes&seconds like 2m34s etc.

So, the actual code with some changes would be like:

Thats all, you are done. You can use the above link to either Email or even paste it in the forum.

Note: If you want to link to a specific time of a YouTube video, just use the above link, and replace the Video ID of that video with your own Video ID.

Update:

Good news... new BBCode has been incorporated in forum. From now onwards, forum members can embed any Youtube video starting from a specific time, in forum posts. To post in forum, use the following method:

[media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAWEql-mMnc&start=168[/media]

In this link, bAWEql-mMnc is the actual Video ID, whereas the code &start=168 means that the video will start from 168 seconds onwards (i.e. specified time).

Remember, the time code must be specified in terms of seconds, it will not work for minutes&seconds like 2m34s etc.

For demo, the following video will start from 168th second, i.e. from 2min 48sec onwards:

Update:

Youtube Media BBCode has been updated. From now onwards, fresh/new posts made by members on Forum having Youtube video(s), will embed the latest Youtube player and its options such as Full screen mode.

Whereas, for the older posts having Youtube video(s), would embed the same older version of Youtube player. However, we will re-built the Forum Posts (at a suitable time when the viewers traffic is minimum) inshaAllah, so that the older embedded videos also get synchronized with the newer Youtube player version.

During the course of time, if you encounter any problem/error, please do notify us in Forum - Complains topic.

A new feature BBCode Float Image/Text has been installed. This BBCode allows you to: make a div float left or to the right. See a sample screen-shot:

How to use it:

Posts like above screen-shot can be made by:

In the code above, there are 3 main variables:

1. float = left (or right as appropriate)
2. image = actual URL location of image, wrapped in image tags
3. text of post = Sunni Muslims in Tehran have been banned.... (this is the text of your post)

When you want to make such a post, in the editor box, click on the button: and it will give a following box:



In the first option, type: left
In the second option, type like following:

[img]http://www.xyz.com/pic.jpg[/img] this is the text of my post....

So, it will give you somewhat like this code:

[float='left'][img]http://www.xyz.com/pic.jpg[/img] this is the text of my post....[/float]

You can replace left with right in the first option of the Float BBCode, as appropriate.

Update:

A new feature MEDIA Tag for embedding Scribd Documents has been installed. This MEDIA tag allows you to: embed Scribd documents in Forum posts.

How to use this:

Step 1:

1. Open any Scribd document at Scribd.com website
2. At right-hand side, under Share & Embed, click on Embed button
3. Copy the link given in Share Fullscreen URL (note: must use Fullscreen URL)

Step 2:

When posting, in the text editor, click on Insert Media button, and paste the Scribd Fullscreen URL

Update:

Installed a new module Show Reputation in User Info when viewing Topics. The same can be seen on any Topic View, under the member's info. It shows the overall Reputation points of a member, given to him/her by other members throughout in forum, till to date.

Installed a new BBCode for posting online PDF documents in posts, Powered by Google Docs.

How to use:

1. In Editor window, click the PDF button
2. Insert online PDF filename URL, for eg:

Update:

Added two more features to the Forum.

Automatic Topic Descriptions: It automatically generate topic descriptions if the topic starter hasn't specified one. It takes the first 70 characters of the post and uses that as the topic description.

Google Site Search: Added Google's Site Search as an option to your search drop-down box. Search results appear as pop-up ajax window.

This is the only board I've ever seen where the search option for started threads/posts by members (when clicking on their profile) does not properly work. It only shows the last couple of posts/threads, not a list of ALL posts/threads. Please fix it, for I can't even look for my old started posts/threads currently.

Our technical team members tried their best to upgrade the forum, but unfortunately due to few critical bugs and server issues, the same has been postponed. Due to this, we have reverted back the Forum to its previous stage, as that was on Nov 17^th 2011. However the posts which were made during/after the upgrade process, are lost (from Nov 18^th - Nov 20^th), for which we are extremely sorry. Since the entire database has been reverted back, those posts during the duration as mentioned can't be retrieved.

Again, on behalf of HCY management, I apologize from you all for the inconvenience you faced while accessing the Forum.

Update:

Two new features installed:

Lazy Loader: when the user scrolls down a page, images on that page (in topic view) will be loaded in and "faded in". Tested on Chrome, Firefox and IE8, Chrome likes to try and pre-load most of the images but the script will stop it so loading times on Chrome are slightly longer than in Firefox or IE8. Note, this plugin does not work in Safari browsers.

Reputation Time: with this plugin, you can click on Reputation button and check when reputation point was given (in topic view).

Flag Topics: Adds a menu with options in topic view (top) to report topics in a faster way, with only one click. You can report those situations:

- Posted in wrong forum
- With broken links
- Disrespecting board rules

Update:

A new plugin installed on Forum:

Hide Content: it allow members to hide part of the content in their posts, so other members will need to reply to that topic before being able to see the hidden content.

How to use: In post editor window, you will see a button with a yellow key sign click it and write/paste whatever you need to hide from other members, till they reply to that topic to view it.

Note: Admins and Moderators are exempted from such restrictions to forcefully post until to see the Hidden Content.

This plugin is for fair use policy only, specially when need to highlight something important, but at the same time need to be hidden from general public or guests, and especially sisters viewing the Forum.

Members when starting new topics, can select from Topic Prefix drop-down option, to highlight the topic title with a prefix of REQUEST

eg: After posting the new topic, the Topic list will appear like as:

Update:

Newbie member group added: Upon successful registration and validation, newly registered members will be allotted as Newbie member group. They are:

1. not allowed to use Shoutbox chat feature (until promoted to Junior Member group)
2. not allowed to open/create New topics (until promoted to Junior Member group)
3. not allowed to post links in topics/posts (until promoted to Junior Member group)

They would require minimum three (3) posts to be promoted to Junior Member group, after which these restrictions will be lifted automatically.
