Basically its sort of an assignment work, so need to know each and every thing possible and available regarding the Taba'i Ibn Shihab Al Zuhri with references. His Aqidah, Knowledge, Taqwah, Authority and specially his status w.r.t Ahadith in the eyes of Muhadditheen and Aa'ima.

Moreover what confusions and allegations are recorded regarding him, in terms of Ahl-e-Sunnah /Shia issues.

Please share whatever you know and whatever you can find, but should be with solid evidences and references. The information can be either in English and Urdu both.

Ibn Sad narrated in his "Tabaqat" (2/388, Daru Sadr, Beirut):

أخبرنا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله الأويسي، حدثني إبراهيم بن سعد عن أبيه قال: ما أرى أحدا جمع بعد رسول الله، صلى الله عليه وسلم ما جمع ابن شهاب.
From Ibrahim ibn Sad from his father: "I haven't seen anyone after prophet (sallalahu alaihi wa ala alihi wa sallam) who would gather what gathered ibn Shihab.

أخبرنا مطرف بن عبد الله: سمعت مالك بن أنس يقول: ما أدركت بالمدينة فقيها محدثا غير واحد، فقلت له: من هو؟ فقال: بن شهاب الزهري.
From Malik ibn Anas: "Madina didn't met faqeh and muhadith except one man". And he was asked who is he, he answered: "Ibn Shihab az-Zuhri".

وأخبرت عن وهيب عن أيوب قال: ما رأيت أحدا أعلم من الزهري.
And from Ayub (most likely as-Sakhtiyani): "I haven't seen anyone knowledable than Zuhri".

Dhahabi in "Siyar" (5/335)
عن يحيى بن سعيد، قال: ما بقي عند أحد من العلم ما بقي عند ابن شهاب
From Yahya ibn Saeed: "From knowledge didn't remain with someone (a portion) which remain with Zuhri"

Actually Imam Rabiah bin abi abdul Rahman (ربیعہ بن ابی عبد الرحمن),  the teacher of Imam Malik and Imam Shuba and Sufyan Suri , and the  student of Anas bin Malik [ra] once told  Ibn Shahab Zuhri that when you narrate hadith, you should show  difference between your opinion and the narration so that people can  differentiate between your opinion and the actual narration, and both of  them don’t mix up.
