Assalamualaikum,

What is the status of this narration Husin r.a asked Umar r.a to descend from mimbar of his father?

Do you have full translation?

Because I have read something similar that Hussein (ra) (when he was was a child) said to Umar or Abubakr (ra) to descend from the mimbar because thats his grandfathers place so Umar or Abubakr (ra) lifted Hussein (ra) and kissed him.

Allah (swt) knows best.

Ameer al-Mu'mineen (ra) began his reign on the 23rd August 634.... al-Hussein (ra) ibn `Ali (ra) as born on the 8th of January 626. (According to Wiki)
Religion = simple and clear.

this hadith shows sayidona omar ibn al-khattab(ra) loving hussein ibn ali(as) more than his own son . a translation would be good. what a fantastic hadith

ps: the narrator is ubaid ibn hunain not ubaid ibn habib and he is thiqat

^Indeed a BEAUTIFUL Hadith, but these Takfeeri minded and full of grudge loaded Rafidah "scholars" see everything in their retarded way.

Faysal Noor's Radd: http://www.fnoor.com/fn0416.htm

Imam Ibn Al-Mubarak (one of the Leading Imams of the Salaf Al-Salih) - رحمه الله تعالى- said: 'The Deen is for the Ahl Al-Hadith, Kalam and tricks for the Ahl Al-Rai and lies are for the Rafidah'.

Imam Fakhr Al-Din Razi (Persian Sunni scholar from Rai/today's Tehran) said: 'An ant from the valley of the ants possesses more intellect than the Rafidi'.

read the hadith carefully akhi and see the superb character of omar al-farooq (ra) and his love for hussein ibn ali(as) : he told hussin(ra) : some to us ! visit us ! hussein ibn ali(as) didn't refuse and he started coming . when he went to visit omar(ra) one day he saw him talking privately to muawya , ibn omar (ra) also came but didn't enter (his father didn't give him permission ) , when hussein (as) saw what ibn omar (ra) did he also didn't enter. so omar(ra) asked him later : why didn't you come to us . he said : i saw ibn omar (ra) not entering so i did like him . omar(ra) said : you are more worthy of my permission to enter than ibn omar (ra ) (his own son) , don't you see allah and yourselves (meaning don't you know your status in the eyes of allah) . you are "above our heads" (arabic expression meaning you are so dear to us ), and he (omar (ra)) put his head on hussein(as) head.

the beginning of the hadith doesn't not show anything bad : hussein (as) was young and spoke with anger and omar (ra) didn't rebuke him or said anything bad to him , on the contrary he spoke kindly to him.

observations : ali(as) was alive then so why didn't he prevent hussein(as) from visiting omar. was this without the permission of ali(as)?

if omar was so evil and the supposed killer of zahra(as) then would hussein go to him and would ali(as) allow him to visit him ?

I read this narration  in Imam Suyuti's Tehreek, and Imam Ali (as) reacts by stating that he is not responsible for this statement. He then asks whether the sons should be punished. The sahaba replied negative and said that the sons have spoken the truth.
If  negating the  term kaffir from Shias, and opposing the  monopolization of the term momin makes me a non-Sunni then I am a non-Sunni.

Quote

Once Umar called upon Hussain, when Hussain came, he met Abdullah ibn  Umar. He (i.e Abdullah ibn Umar said: I haven’t been allowed to meet  him. When Hussain came to know this, he returned. Than when he met Umar  later, Umar said: Why you didn’t come? Hussain said: When I came to meet  you , I saw that Abdullah , your son, has also not been allowed to meet  you , so I returned. Upon this, Umar said: Are you like Ibn Umar? He  has another status , and you have another status.
