THe question that I want to ask is about this tradition whether Sunni deem it authentic or not
- حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِشَامٍ الرِّفَاعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، مِنْ بَنِي زُهْرَةَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ رَفِيقٌ وَرَفِيقِي - يَعْنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ عُثْمَانُ "
Prohpet(Saww) said every Nabi had a Rafeeq(Friend) and my Rafeeq would be Uthman
Reference:-Sunan Tirmizi,Book of virtues of Usman tradition no 3
Note:- Since I don't know Arabic well so corrections are appreciated...

Well It was nice with "Some" of you guys and it was a bitter experience too with "Some" of you guys..
My sole purpose for joining this forum was to learn about the arguments put by Anti Shia Missionaries and to reply them if i Know...
Al-Hamdolillah We have replied them nicely and they were running like their masters ran in Uhud and they explicated their Frustration by banning Mufti and I along with other Shia members pleaded to let Mufti come again and Even I took the gurantee too but I think Mufti has perished their so called "Debate abilities" and thus I gave them 2 days time to unban "Mufti" but Jhangwi announced that their so called "Shura" has scorned this decision and thus I am leaving this forum...

Sorry for the draconian answer but I am in a hurry ...
There are a lot of Mutawattir hadiths regarding the good status of Hz Uthman [ra] in the afterlife however the one you are referring to is considered weak by Imam Tirmizi (may Allah have mercy on his soul) himself:
Imam Tirmizi rated all his hadiths commenting on their Isnad. Unfortunately, I can't get my hand on a copy right now. But I found this in Imam Ibn Katheer Bidaya Wa-Nihaya Vol. 7, year 7 of hegira section:
قال الترمذي حدثنا أبو هشام الرفاعي ثنا يحيى بن اليمان عن شريح بن زهرة عن الحارث بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي وثاب عن طلحة بن عبيد الله قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لكل نبي رفيق ورفيقي في الجنة عثمان ثم قال هذا حديث غريب وليس إسناده بالقوي وإسناده منقطع
"Tirmizi said Abu Hisham Al-Rifai' Thana b. Yihia Al-Yaman narrated from Sharih b. Zahra from Al-Harith b. Abdel Rahman b. Abi Wathab from Talha b. Ubeidallah, he said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that every prophet has his companion and that my companion in heaven is Uthman, than he [Tirmizi] said that this hadith is Ghareeb and its Isnad is not strong, it is discontinuous (Mounqati')".
In bold is a more accurate translation of the Hadith you posted.

Note 1: ghareeb means strange in its content and not widely recognized.
Note 2: I read the post about "my sahaba are like stars". This is a controversial hadith. I remember reading that it's weak but I am not sure. I'll try to check it later Inshallah.
P.S. I'll restrict my contribution to this post due to time management concerns. This is a notice for the troops who'll barge in with their comments & more later on.

Yeah good answer A.H and I was reading the Sharha of Tirmizi and came through the comments that u cited but just to ask about a naive Sunni,I started a thread but I go step further and looked the status of the narrators and mostly were condemned by the Reejaal critics including Ibne Hajar and many others!
